Bluesky: An all-encompassing account, featuring anything I fancy posting about in the given moment.
Higher Education: Thoughts and commentary captured during my time spent working in Higher Education.
Research: I completed my formal research studies in 2018. This area may expand again in time but, at present, features some of the blog posts referenced in my thesis and some of the presentations I produced in the earlier stages of my studies. My research thesis, Digital Ethnography and a Virtual Orkney: The Role of Folklore in Creating an Online Orkney Place, can be accessed via the University of Aberdeen repository.
Scribbles and Sketches: Seasonal notebooks hosted on Substack, four a year, each lasting a calendar months and following a single themes, which may be predominantly textual or predominantly visual.
ShiverWriggle: Though currently on a (possibly permanent) hiatus, ShiverWriggle was launched in June 2009 as a literary website. The majority of the writing has now been archived, but a small taste is still available.
Simply This: A year-long project hosted on Substack, featuring suggestions of fun and interesting things to do. Expect bursts of nostalgia, old-fashioned fun in its simplest state, and a not insignificant amount of cheerful daftness.
Substack: Featuring links to my Substack publications (Scribbles and Sketches, Simply This), and my more informal Notes activity.
The Library: Links and snippets that have piqued my interest in some way or another. Primarily my own reference repository, but may be of interest to others. Updated sporadically at present.
The Newspaper Project: Curated snippets from old newspapers, a by-product of research for another creative project. Updated sporadically at present.
Vignettes: The latest iteration of my newsletter, (re)launching in December 2024. Each edition will include updates of any recent creative activity, as well as skits and whatnot of a more personal nature.
